Veritas – Bavaria Cruiser 50
Bavaria Cruiser 50 for sale in Grenada. Overall, this yacht is in good condition for its 20+ years at sea. The current owners have enjoyed sailing it around the Grenadines and have been impressed with its sailing capabilities and ease of handling from the cockpit. The Bruce Farr hull design, along with the deep bulbous keel, significantly enhances both stability and performance. The sails, now four years old, remain in excellent shape. An inspection and tune-up of the rig conducted about 18 months ago confirmed that everything is in good order. Under ideal conditions, they have experienced speeds of up to 8.5 knots while sailing between Carriacou and Grenada, with the first reef in the mainsail and wind conditions of 14-16 knots.
The yacht is equipped with a Raytheon autopilot, a large plotter, and all the necessary electronics function smoothly, including the Volvo engine for when it’s needed. It starts reliably and boasts a 60 amp alternator tied to a multi-step smart regulator that delivers full power even at idle. The hull speed with the Volvo engine stands at 5 knots at 2000 rpm and 6.5 knots at 3000 rpm. At 50 feet and approximately 15,000 kg, the yacht feels spacious and stable both at sea and at anchor. It strikes a commendable balance between power, performance, and comfort. Its clean lines and uncluttered surfaces above and below deck impart a professional and tidy appearance.
Below deck, it offers comfortable accommodations for six to eight crew members, alongside ample catering options. While there are a few issues that require attention, this presents a great opportunity for a new owner to customize and personalize the yacht according to their preferences and is reflected in the price.

RECOMMENDED UPGRADES
- Upholstery and bedding are all a little old and jaded.
- Bimini, dodger and stack pack could be replaced. (Genoa sun cover is quite new)
- She needs a haul out for a hull clean and antifoul.
- Battery Banks: engine crank battery from 2023. 4 x 6-volt golf cart batteries 2024 are only just enough to power Veritas so the batteries could do with an upgrade.
- Watermaker and bowthruster needs a service which I am dealing with currently.
