Pelican was in Charter initially but experienced minimal use during the Pandemic year, 2020. She has been out of Charter since June 2023 when it was placed in a technical repair center out of the water waiting on insurance approvals and repairing issues
This boat was in a charter fleet (not Horizon Charters) in the BVI’s and finally the Bahamas. The owners were taking the boat out of charter but unfortunately, on the boat’s last charter, it was run aground. The boat didn’t lean over, and no damage was done to the top sides. Damage was done to the tabbing on the boxed cross sections above the keel but the boat was able to be sailed to Florida where the repairs were undertaken. When inspected on arrival in Grenada, our staff noticed a small crack in tabbing further along the hull which had not been repaired. The owner’s insurance company stated the repair was not necessary but local surveyors have stated the repair should be done. The repair estimate is roughly US$30,000. For this reason, the owners have reduced the price of the boat by US$40,000 to allow a buyer to initiate the repairs. The repair work can be done in Clarke’s Court Boat Yard, Grenada, where the boat is currently stored.
